Engraving

The best way to personalize a gift or piece of fine jewelry is by engraving a
name, initials or a special message. Dutille's offers two different ways to
engrave jewelry and gifts.

We have a computerized engraving machine that offers approximately 2 dozen
fonts to choose from. Practically anything can be engraved, including glass!
This is a great option for many different types of gifts.

We also offer hand engraving. Hand engraving was once a cornerstone of fine
jewelry ornamentation and has recently become popular again. In recent years,
Jude Dutille has devoted considerable time to learn the lost art of hand
engraving. The main benefit of hand engraving is the artistic expression in the
design. Hand engraving cuts can be accomplished at varying depths, widths,
and finishes giving the final piece the enduring beauty and character of an
individual work of art. Machine engraved cuts are made of consistent depth and
width, often shallow, which typically wears off more quickly. Hand engraving
goes much deeper into the metal than machine engraving, making it perfect for
rings or for those special pieces that will become family heirlooms.
